Vallecitos Point
La Jolla Submarine Canyon, San Diego, California, United States
The most-dived section of the La Jolla Submarine Canyon, reached by a beach swim from Vallecitos Street. The sloping clay 'Main Wall' runs north–south while the point itself turns east–west; beneath a muddy first impression it teems with rockfish, painted greenlings, nudibranchs, lobster, sheep crab and large halibut, with bat rays and the occasional giant sea bass passing through. Inside the San Diego–La Jolla Ecological Reserve (no take).
